Elise was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley on her family's dairy farm. She grew up drawing, gardening, and taking pictures of anything and everything. Spoilers: she still loves to do these things.

She has many years of experience as a freelance photographer in the valley; primarily covering portraiture, wedding, and real estate photography. As the Associate Creative Media Producer at James Madison University, Elise is involved in capturing every aspect of university life through both photography and video. Before JMU, she spent several years as a photographer for Shenandoah Family Farms; following 22 farms throughout the valley and recording every moment of farm life that she possibly could.

Elise started Trissel Photography because she thoroughly enjoys utilizing her love for photography and her experience in the field to capture stories, authentic stories.
